Mythril TTRPG Alpha Launch & Updates

Hello!

First I would like to thank everyone who viewed this post and downloaded the rules for my ttrpg project Mythril. I look forward to hearing feedback so I can improve the rules even more and make a fun and enjoyable ttrpg.

I am currently working on an Alpha v2 version of the rules and hopefully I will be able to have it out in a few weeks time. There are a few changes to the rules in the works, new enemies for play testing, a few combat tweaks, and more.  However I have decided that I am going to switch the system from being d10 based to d6 based.

One of the big reasons why I chose to draft this system using a d10 based system was because it made the numbers easier to work with, however after some feedback I have decided to change it over to a d6 system. The first reason was due to accessibility, since most people are more likely to have access to d6 than d10, and I want to try and design this game so you only need a handful of dice to play. The second reason behind this change is now that I have the structure of the system built and because it is in very early stage of development, it is much easier to make a big change like this sooner rather than later. Lastly it actually does make the math a bit easier to comprehend in terms of balancing and creating new mechanics.

When the overhaul to d6 is finished, the next plan is to add weapons with their own damage dice and unique abilities to replace the flat 1d10 + MOD damage. Since the game is all about abilities, effects, and ways to combine them it figures that those complexities should extend to the weapons as well. Along with weapons combat in general is going to get some tweaks here and there to make it more balanced. Character creation is going to get a slight tweak as well since you can technically create a character that can't qualify for any of the starting classes (maybe make a Dark Souls inspired Prisoner/Wretch class?) which although funny should still be fixed. More monsters are being added in the next update as well to give your play testing a bit more variety, and allow for more complex strategies.

Sadly I can't promise any specific timelines or roadmaps for this project as I am treating this more like a hobby and as a fun creative outlet that lets me give back to the ttrpg community with a new way to play. Currently this is a solo project and most likely will be for some time so progress might be slow at times, but I will do my best to work on this project when I can.

Thank you again for checking out this project!
